International Week in Teacher Education 2021 “Celebrating Diversity and Promoting Inclusion”
SAVE THE DATE – The International Week in Teacher Education 2021 takes place at FAU from November 29th to December 4th, 2021, with the theme “Celebrating Diversity and Promoting Inclusion.” The focus is on dealing with cultural and linguistic diversity in schools as well as on international perspectives on diversity and inclusion in the context of internationalization.
The international week offers a wide range of information and counselling on international activities in teacher education (e.g. semesters abroad, (virtual) short-term mobilities, international projects or courses with an international focus “at home”). In addition, international partner universities introduce themselves. Students and teacher educators have the opportunity to participate in workshops, guest lectures and advanced training sessions (e.g. on “Multi-grade classes – A concept from the point of view of inclusion and diversity”), to network with international fellow students and colleagues, and to exchange ideas on the topic of diversity and inclusion from an international comparative perspective. International students will also gain insight into FAU as well as teacher education in Germany, Bavaria and at FAU.
In addition, during the week of the event, an exhibition will be available at the Erlangen (entrance hall of the main library) and Regensburger Straße campuses (foyer of the Regensburger Straße campus) with information on semesters and internships abroad, financing opportunities, students’ reports on their experiences abroad, international activities “at home,” etc.

The week of events will be implemented (subject to the epidemiological situation) in physical presence and hybrid formats, and will offer a wide range of activities for students and teacher educators of FAU and partner universities abroad.
